Wine Bottle Candle Holders

Whenever I look at Halloween decorations in the shops or watch a spooky Halloween film, there are always bottles of various shapes and sizes being used as candle holders. If these props are good enough for the movies, they’re good enough for your home! All you need to do is collect some empty wine bottles, beer bottles, or glass soft drinks bottles and pick up some black spray paint. 

Take your glass bottles outside and give them a good coating of black spray paint. If you want to add the illusion of age to your bottles, try using some coarse sandpaper to gently tarnish the black paint. Next, use a lighter to warm the end of your candle sticks up and firmly insert them into the necks of the bottles. If you want to take things the extra mile, why not print out some spooky vintage styled labels for your bottles?

Light Up Ghost Lamps

These light up ghost lamps are a super easy DIY Halloween decoration that is ideal for children. Again, we’re going to be using our recycling, so start rummaging for empty milk bottles – the bigger, the better! To create these cute little ghosts, simply cut a small hole in the back of your milk bottle and insert a plastic battery operated candle. It’s also a good idea to place some gravel or small rocks in the bottom of the milk jugs to help hold the ghost lamps in place. Next, using a black Sharpie, draw some spooky ghost faces on the bottles and wait until it gets dark. These ghost lanterns are so easy and cheap to make and they look especially effective when you create several different sized lamps and bunch them together.

DIY Halloween Bunting

Do you have access to a sewing machine? Do you happen to have any Halloween themed fabric or old Halloween costumes that no longer fit?
