Here are some tips to make using a dog grooming clipper easy:
- Make sure you have all the right tools before you start.
- Gather all your supplies together so that you can do everything at once—this way it’ll take less time overall, and it helps keep things clean too!
- Choose the right blade for the job – if you’re cutting through thick fur, choose a more powerful blade with more teeth. If your dog’s fur is fine or thin, use a smaller-tooth blade.
- Get to know your dog’s coat type so that when you’re choosing blades and combs, it’ll be easier to find something that works well on both thick and thin fur types without having to buy two different sets of equipment just for one dog’s coat type!
- Always use sharp blades; dull ones will pull at the fur instead of cutting through smoothly which can cause discomfort for both people and
- Start by cutting the hair away from the dog’s neck and shoulders, working with small sections at a time. When you’ve got all of that done, move on to trimming around the paws, legs, and tail.
- Finally, give your pup a nice little haircut by going over their head once more but don’t be afraid to use some creativity here because there’s no right or wrong way when it comes to this kind of thing!
- Routinely touch the blade you are using to make sure that it is not too hot to the touch. A hot blade can and will “blade burn” your pet and is very uncomfortable and hurts!
